Who we are
Hi !
My name is Sonja and I am the owner, baker and person behind Sonja’s Sourdough.
I am a mom of two little ones and a nurse by day.
I started my microbakery in hopes to share my love and knowledge of sourdough and feed this beautiful community.
To me, sourdough is more than just bread—it's a labour of love that reflects tradition and craftsmanship. At its core, sourdough is made with just three simple ingredients: flour, water, and salt, combined with a naturally fermented starter. This starter is a living culture, teeming with wild yeast and beneficial bacteria, creating a unique flavour profile and a delightful texture.
Each batch of my sourdough loaves and baked goods is hand-mixed and allowed to undergo a long fermentation period, developing the complex tangy flavour that sourdough is renowned for.
I strive for quality over quantity and hope to hear from you after you give it a try !
